Property Description

Krieger's Corner — A San Francisco Legacy, Thoughtfully Reimagined One block from Golden Gate Park, on a prominent corner lot in San Francisco's desirable Richmond District, stands a remarkable residence that has been thoughtfully transformed for its next chapter. Held by the same family for 54 years, this gracious home combines the architectural character and generously proportioned rooms of an earlier San Francisco with the comfort, functionality, and structural improvements of a substantial modern renovation. Approximately $600,000 in improvements have enhanced the property from its foundation to its uppermost floor. Extensive seismic upgrades include engineered shear walls extending from the basement through the third floor and reinforcement of the existing foundation. The renovation also includes complete electrical rewiring, removal of knob-and-tube wiring, a new electrical panel, extensive plumbing improvements, asbestos abatement, replacement and reconfiguration of HVAC ductwork, and a roof approximately two years old. Inside, beautifully proportioned rooms, original plaster detailing, and abundant natural light preserve the home's architectural elegance. The reimagined kitchen opens to the dining area, creating an inviting space for everyday living and entertaining. A new primary suite, updated bathrooms, a new main-level powder room, and thoughtfully incorporated laundry facilities bring modern convenience to this classic residence. Offering more than 3,000 square feet of living space, the property also includes a permitted, approximately 700-square-foot one-bedroom apartment, providing flexibility for extended family, guests, or rental income. A two-car garage adds another valuable convenience. The location is exceptional: just one block from Golden Gate Park, within walking distance of Fulton Playground, neighborhood shops, restaurants, and the recreational opportunities that make the Richmond District so appealing. Ocean Beach is also nearby. For more than half a century, this was a home filled with friendship, hospitality, and an extraordinary family history. Its longtime owners, internationally recognized in the world of fly fishing, welcomed friends and visitors from near and far. Now beautifully renewed, Krieger's Corner offers a rare opportunity to become part of that continuing story. A remarkable home. A remarkable legacy. A new chapter waiting to be written.
